Instructions for Paper Piecing


This is the print and stitch side of block
 


Fabric side of block, fabric faces right side out.
Pin fabric right side out on non-printed side; hold up to light to be sure
fabric is covering area needed. 


lay green fabric right sides together with red fabric and pin
 


Stitch on the paper side on the line between 1 and 2.


Turn over to fabric side and press open.
 


Place the background on the line between 3 and 1-pin in place and open up to be sure
once you sew, it will cover area #3
 


Sew on the paper side on the line between 3 and 1. Do not open and press yet.
 

 Fold paper back along line (Do Not Remove It Yet).
 

 Use a ruler to measure 1/4 “ seam and trim
only the fabric, not the paper.
 

Now open background and press, paper should still be behind the piece.
 

Repeat with the other side 
 

Both background fabrics should extend beyond the paper.
 


Carefully trim using a ruler and rotary cutter on the outer marked line.

 

Carefully remove paper.
